Perinatal Mental Health Disorders impact 15 to 20% of birthing people during their perinatal period.
• They are the #1 complication from childbirth.
• There are at least six subtypes of PMHDs, causing a variety of symptoms.
• They often go undiagnosed and untreated, affecting the whole family.
The term "perinatal" means the period all around pregnancy, from conception until 1 year postpartum
• Mental health symptoms and disorders can impact us at any time during our lives.
• However, evidence has shown that there is a marked increase in them during the perinatal period.
* All parents past the official "perinatal" period, are in the right place. I provide ongoing support for maternal/paternal mental health through your parenting journey
